Thank you.

Pics and more information like barrel length, finish, etc would be helpful.

The guys here can probably provide as good an appraisal as anyone.
As posted, details about the gun and good quality pics are needed.
The knowledge base here is amazing!

How mysteriously intriguing.
Hopefully we will hear back.
Maybe it’s kinda like the one in the picture I attached. (Not my pistol of course.)

I love the first post trying to figure out what something is worth.
I did not realize he was a member 9 years before posting when I wrote the above comment.

Asking what something is worth and it looks like this is his first and only post . Nothing wrong with that , but at least have the decency to answer .

Very true. I was waiting for someone else to suggest he post pictures, (good pictures,) right HERE. There are many resident Model 41 enthusiasts if not experts here. It might take a couple of days for them all to respond but it’s guaranteed they will.

Interesting...... what makes you think that he has disappeared into thin air? What I find to be really strange is that it took this individual 9 years to finally post something. Sort of like the spy who came in out of the cold.....

The OP was fishing and through PMs, he found what he was looking for - someone to buy his rare gun!

Maybe a Model 41 in .22 Short or the 5.5" barrel with the sight extension? I don't think there were many of either made.

My Model 41 is a rare One of One model...the only one like it.
Yes, it is the only 5.5" model 41 bearing its specific serial number.
Really.
Not bragging, it is just so.

Mr. Kidcom, well Mr. piperarrow has not returned to divulge his rare mod-41
to the impatient Forum members.

Unless I am misreading the OP, wasn't he asking where who he could go to get his gun appraised, not asking us to appraise it?
Not everyone feels comfortable posting pictures of their guns on the internet or even discussing very specific details. And while I have found this forum to have a lot of knowledgeable people and learned a lot here I cannot really blame someone for thinking asking a bunch of random guys on the internet isn't the best way to get accurate information. Since none of us actually answered his question he might not feel obligated to answer ours.

AND, here I thought that my Model 41 was just falling apart,,,
You mean that ALL 41's are not like this?
The way the forum is set as a default, there is no automatic message to the OP,, or anyone else for that matter.
You gotta request a email,, to know there was a reply to post.
Most forums are the opposite, you gotta change a setting to NOT get an email,,
The OP probably has no idea how many great replies he has,,,

I see such things.
People post and they want a one line answer specific to their question.
They don't understand that it is a DISCUSSION board and we are going to kick things around a lot.
You have to have a pretty interesting OP to get me to start googling or pulling out books and catalogs.
I recall one particular guy who, if you answered a question out of your own knowledge, he was going to come back with a demand for a literature cite. Not on my dime, buster.

Ok sports fans. My question was to find someone who can provide an appraisal. Given the internet / social media etc. I am not going to provide any information about this firearm on a form. I did hope I might find that guidance however, given the comments I made a mistake.

Just for your info there are more qualified people on this forum then there ever will be so called experts who will charge you for a appraisal that will most likely be wrong anyway.
Just my two cents worth.

Mr. piperarrow, did you want an insurance or a sale appraisal?
I would PM anyone of the members for a confidential appraiser.

Given the vagueness and ambiguity with your original post, it’s hard to suggest a proper source for an appraisal.
If it’s going to remain a secret squire 41 than you did make a mistake asking for any suggestions here. I personally have researched, authenticated and got an appraisal on a 41 I have. I found out there were @34 of them made and in the process I “met” some really nice and helpful people. I started out being polite, respectful and thankful with everyone I contacted.

The OP should contact David Carrol (member wordsmith) or Lee Jarrett (member handejector and forum owner) for an appraisal.
Seems he’s not interested in our help, so there’s no reason to keep this thread on the front page. Closed.
