Default Model 52-1 and Model 52-2

Will a Model 52-1 slide and barrel fit and function if installed on a Model 52-2 frame?

Thank you.

Bob

I believe in theory it should. I say it this way because unlike the high volume production models, all of these guns were very finely hand fitted. So it might take a little fitment to make them work.

I’ll say this in another way also, and this view is my own whether or not anyone cares to agree with it or take issue:

If I had parts or a gun with a major failure and I had to source a non-original as shipped slide and frame together to make it work, I would do that, certainly. However, I’m of the camp that if I had two whole guns with no issue whatsoever, never would I swap slides between frames.

I say this simply due to the sublime and seemingly perfect mated fit between them as a Model 52 has.

If both guns are functioning properly, why would you want the take the chance and end up with two non-functioning guns?
