3913NL Came Home With Me Yesterday
I went to my LGS to pick up a Ruger revolver I posted about in the "other makes" forum.
And I saw a blue S&W box on the shelf. So I asked to see it, and there was this 3913NL looking back at me.
I've been looking for a smaller Smith semi pistol, and there it was.
Has the extra mag, box insert with VCI paper and original paperwork. So it came home with me along with the aforementioned Ruger.
Question, I read in my SCSW Vol.2 that this is the Lady Smith minus the markings. So what does the NL stand for? No Lady?
Anyway, it was a good day in NE PA.

I've heard it meant 'new look' also 'non lady'. Enjoy it, I've had mine since 1991. Its been ultra reliable just a broken firing pin and spring .

Congrats! Very nice score!
I have the blue version, 3914NL. It is my favorite 9mm pistol. I carry it in the summertime and during the rest of the year it rides in my range bag in the trunk.
Great slim carry gun. Just the right size and weight. Bet your life reliable too. Enjoy yours! Regards 18DAI

The left side only safety/decocker and slide lock make it thinner than the "regular" guns. That's why I hunted for a single side safety for my pre rail 3913TSW. I sent that to BMCM for a shave and dehorning and then found one of the flat slide releases.
Makes for a very slim carry pistol.

Congratulations on a great LGS find. The 3913NL is a fine shooter and CCW options.
Now, all you need is a good IWB holster. I carry my 3913NL in a Don Hume H715-M WCS #28-1 which works well with my 3913LS and 3953 models too.
Enjoy your new acquisition!!!

Excellent find. I picked one up earlier this year as well and am thrilled to have it. I like the grey grip but I think I lean a little more to the black. Good to have choices.

Nice find, looks to be in great shape too. Many folks (myself included) consider these 39xx guns to be one of the best CC pistols ever made, if not the best. I personally carry a later 3913TSW with the rail removed, though I have a few more variations as well, and they are all bet-your-life reliable!
Good idea to get a fresh recoil spring installed ( Smith & Wesson Recoil Spring S&W 3953TSW 3913 3914 3914DAO 3953 3954) and be sure to hang on to those gray grips - they are not being made anymore!

Thank you for the link.
I like the gray grips, makes it look distinctive.
Now I need to get a few extra mags.

Mags can be a bit difficult to find these days, keep your eye on the Classifieds here, as well as eBay and Gunbroker. S&W factory magazines are the ones to look for, avoid all aftermarket 3913 mags.
I personally like to carry the longer 9-round 3906/909 factory mags as backups, and they will work just fine in your 3913 (though they will stick out a bit). Midway is currently out of them, but here is the link for reference or future purchase: Smith & Wesson Mag S&W 39 439 539 639 909 952 3904 3906 3944 3946 9mm

Thank you for the link.
Funny you mention aftermarket mags.
I was just on Ebay and the first 2 listings were for ProMag and Triple K.
Nope nope and nope.
Been in this game long enough to know having no mag is still better than having a ProMag.
And Triple K? Triple no way.

It's the "Value Line" version of the 3913. Still very nice guns, but S&W made some engineering changes to cut production costs.
Most parts will interchange between the two models, but there are some differences.
