Default 3rd Gen Bead blasting questions

Just picked up a polished 6906 at a gun store. The magazine has some rust on it. I tumbled it in corn cob media which helped. Wondering if anyone has bead blasted the stainless 3rd gen mags. It seems the secret sauce for the stainless guns is more course than the factory finish on the mags. I have not tried the secret sauce yet, wanted to see what you guys have tried. Would something like walnut media or corn cob media be a better option to blast the magazine??

Also, the gun has been polished, both the slide and aluminum frame. The anodizing is gone on most of the exposed parts of the frame, they must have polished it with the grip on it. Does look kind of nice. If I leave it that way, will need to do a bit more polishing to make it more complete. What would bead blasting the frame with the secret sauce look like.

Thanks,

Rosewood

There is a thread somewhere in the forum that addressed this for the 5906. I guess that it would apply to any stainless 3rd Gen.

You'll probably have to dig around to find it. I think the solution was some sort of silica, but I'm not sure.

I am familiar with that thread. That is where I got the secret sauce, but the thread was about blasting the slide, not the magazines.

Thanks,

Rosewood
