945-1 came home
Well I picked this up yesterday from FFL. I was more than happy with this purchase.
I did add the PC case but everything else came in the box. The good part was the gun was advertised as gun only with 1 mag. With a minimum GB bid there were no takers. But you don’t know if you don’t ask.. the seller went and found the other mag all the paperwork, fired casing and lock. So the deal ended up in my favor financially. ( at least I think so! )
I feel whole again after selling mine in 2014. This is 4 digits away from the one I sold.

I love the look of a 945 .....and I'm sure it's been answered before but since I'm embarrassingly ignorant on anything 1911...what are the main differences?

Nice pistol and whole package. I’m glad it worked out for you so well, including the close serial number. It was meant to be.
I only have a first run, full size LEW 945 and the 945 “littles” sure look intriguing to me. Ive always really liked my SS Colt Officers 45 and my “SS” Colt Defender 45 is sweet. But I had to work on both and change parts to get them as perfect I wanted them to be. (Or should have been to begin with.) I don’t think anything would need to be changed in the 945. I think S&W got it right with the 945’s.

Very awesome sir, I love when a deal comes together like that... my target 945 is a laser beam... the other commander size is NIB so I have no idea if its accurate or a scatter gun hahah...
All I can say is we (I) hope for a range report!?!?

I got out to the range yesterday. I took 2 new (to me) guns with me the 945 and a canjunized CZ75 SP01 Tactical with an RMR. Both worked flawlessly. The 945 took a little getting used to as point of aim was hitting about 6" high. I adjusted my grip slightly and changed my sight picture. Then it was dead on. It's such an easy pistol to shoot. The only downsize is the 6 round capacity mags.
Meanwhile..While I was at the range (Point Blank Range Store/Range) my partner spied a used Sig 938 for $359. It was manufactured in Late 2019 and look almost unused.. so I bought it since he couldn't. It's unusual for this shop to have good deals. The 938 also worked flawlessly. I am supposed to be doing a drastic inventory reduction...So far I have sold a lot of my inventory... but I also bought 4 guns in last 2 weeks... This is not helping my cause.
I am really happy to have the 945 back in the stable.

I see that the magazine has dual cuts for the magazine catch. At 6 rounds, I guess the CS45 could also use the magazine.

That's correct I gained 2 more mags for my CS45. It doesn't work in reverse though. The CS45 mags won't lock into the 945. Unless I were to cut the 2nd notch. That would be require more setup cost than new mags cost.
