Default SPECIAL 845

WHILE FIGURING OUT MY NEW CELL PHONE . I RAN ACROSS THIS OLD PIC OF MY 845. THOUGHT YOU MIGHT ENJOY IT. IT HAS A ARISTROCRAT 3 POSITION REAR SIGHT FOR PPC SHOOTING. I SHOOT IT AT THE POLICE NATIONALS AND MADE THE PRESIDENTS HUNDRED WITH IT. JP

Very nice JP.

The Performance Center was using the Aristocrat sight on the PPC9 at that time. It is a great sight, I have put it on some of my 1911 builds

I see he also made you a taller front sight to match it

Those were the days when the Performance Center actually would do something special for you

However, it is natural that I would like it, I have been an 845 fan for decades.

JP,
Are you still shooting that one?

I see yours is one from the 2nd (smaller) run of 845 Model of 1998, product code 170097

These days I only get my 845 out perhaps twice each year. I wish I had a friendly indoor range here in Central Florida where I moved to. I miss shooting every weekend.

I have the same model as you, my Uncle has the Limited. Both are pictured below. I dislike the billboard on the right side of the 845 that I own, but I do prefer the forward cocking serrations which the 845 Limited is lacking

I have added wood grips to mine. KSD grips in Turkey makes a very nice replacement product. I tend to prefer the straight backstrap to the rounded on that the Hogue rubber grips create

I have KSD grips on 3 of my auto loaders. They look good

NAAA, NOT SHOOTING IT, IT'S JUST SITTING ON THE SHELF. I'VE BEEN SHOOTING A 6" ROCK RIVER 1911 FOR ABOUT 15 YEARS. GOT A ROCK 6" IN 9MM AND 45. THEY BOTH SHOOT UNDER 1.5" AT 50YDS. THE 845 IS ABOUT 2.25-2.5" AT 50YDS.

THAT BEING SAID I OWNED BOTH A 745 AND 945 ALONG WITH THE 845. NEITHER ONE COULD HOLD A CANDLE TO THE 845. DUMPED THEM BOTH AND KEPT THE 845. I EVEN HAVE A OPEN FRONT PPC HOLSTER FOR THE 845. JP

Thanks colt_saa , now I know what to tell my wife I want for Xmas . Mine was NIB when I bought it , but no more . Everyone that shoots it says it's the best 45 they've shot . Colt , we'll have to go to Titusville to the Police Hall of Fame , they have a nice indoor range . I belong to the Titusville Rifle and Pistol Club if you want to shoot outdoors . And no , I don't live in Titusville .
