I have two PC mags that have double cut magazine catch slots. One is for the 945/4506 which use 8 round mags and the other is for the 945 compact/4516/Shorty 45 which use 7 round mags. I have rarely seen them available. If any of you have used them or have additional information, please comment. See photos.

I think they were modified 4506 mags to fit the 945... they will work in the 4506s if you push the mag release and let it go past the first notch.. same with the smaller mags...

Later 945 guns came with the higher notch cut only...

This is the way....

I think they went this way in the very earliest of 945 shipments before they had spit out a large run of the magazines specific to the 945 which yes, was exactly the same except with the notch a bit higher.

Let me also say that when you LOOK at them, it might appear as a physical potential weak spot. However, these suckers are strong, I mean STRONG. It is not weak, even if it looks like it.

They have printed wording to tell you not to use them in the other guns, but that must be simply a CYA. If you were in a drawn out fire fight with your 4506 and you inserted only to the first notch, your pistol would absolutely fail to feed. But for range use, they work 100% of the time.

With the help of a friend and his garage of amazing tools, we modified six of mine perfectly to mimic these exactly and I use them in both my 945’s and in my 745’s and 845 also.

There is also a 6 round 945 mag.

The 6 round dual cut will also work in the CS45.
