Default Remember the “4505” I got?

I paid a bunch for it cause I really wanted it. I guess I didn’t notice, (unlike some others here,) that it had a 4567-NS top end on it.

Even though it’s ANIB with everything it’s NOT a 4505.

I paid, (donated kinda sorta,) ANOTHER $100.00 to get a factory letter just to see. Nope, it left the factory as a 4505 and apparently never went back. At some point the top end was switched with a 4567-NS one but not at the factory. Oh well ya never know unless you inquire.

My disappointment was over months ago because it is a great .45 as it is. The balance is perfect, it shoots wonderfully and accurately, has an amazing trigger, and it looks fantastic with that deep blueing. I know that the blueing will hold up better than the comparable PC examples I have with that less than durable “blackening.”

Dumb question time. What is the difference between a 4505 top end and a 4567 top end?

That is not a dumb question Gary. In fact I’ve never seen you ask one here. Unlike me.

The 4505 had the standard 5” barrel whereas the 4567 had the 4.25” one.

Hang around, you will!

Thanks. I know you likely bought that for the collectors value, but personally a shorter barrel would appeal to me. Well, not if I wanted it just for collector value.

The 4567 was pretty rare itself, as I remember.

That is a very nice "one off" custom 45!

I have always liked the all black 4500 series guns. A polished black one, with a 4.25 barrel, is a pistol they should have made. From the factory. Regards 18DAI

may i ask what the "bunch" was that you originally paid?
the reason i ask is because i have an all original nib 4505 that i'm thinking of selling and want some perspective on what to ask for it.

you can pm me if you don't want to mention price here, thanks.

If it was mine, I'd expect about $1,200 on GB and I think I would get it. That's assuming a start at no reserve, and with good photos, and a 14-day window.
