A real beauty. Please dont take it apart. There is no need. If it came with the wrench, please send it to me for safe keeping. Shoot and have fun.

I’m envious. I have 52-1’s and 52-2”s but have never found a no-dash. You made a great purchase.

The Superlatives Have Been Exhausted . . .
. . . And accurately so with regard to that Model 52 (no) up top.
I am of the mind that it previously was a one-owner who treasured it as much as have many already expressed within this thread.
Thinking of Mike, now: Sometimes folks just don't really need to disassemble guns as frequently as is so often seen. I've held in my hands a bunch of firearms whose previous owners took apart but forgot how to reassemble.
However, God love him, Mike comes up with diametric zingers once every blue moon or so. He means well.
Besides, he's a member in good standing of the Royal and Ancient Curmudgeon Society (RACS), just as is this old fart.
Later.

What a terrific find congrats and enjoy. As for taking it apart, I do that with any 52 that comes into my possession right down to the last screw and thoroughly clean every part. I wrote a sticky on how to do it and it's posted on the board.

DC. I was just kidding about taking the 52 apart. I like to take apart my
52 on a deep shag rug after a few Scotches. Also my Rolex and Leica camera. And I proudly wear my RACS pin with a gold leaf cluster.
Have a good Christmas and stay safe. Mike

FYI According the the S&W Standard Catalog, the 52 no dash was in production from 1961-1963 with only 3500 units produced. That is quite a find you have there. I am a big fan of the 52, but just came into possession a Colt Gold Cup National Match MKIII 38Spl (1970 production) that is in NIB condition. At least it was until last weekend....

Does your Colt throw empty's 20 ft away like mine? I added a 16lb spring to keep the that close. My 52 series pistols lays them right next to me.

Actually it is more like 30 -40 ft. I have tried a new 14 lb spring, and same result. Will be trying heavier springs this weekend. One question - do you find the standard 1911 springs too long to fit in yours? I'm having to cut about 4 curls out of a standard 1911 spring to get them to fit.

Colt 38
I put springs from Wolfe in mine. They show the standard as 14 lb. I think I ordered one of the assortments. The 14 lb is the same as used in the Service Ace 22. When I first got mine it would throw empties a long way, when i striped it down it had a cut back recoil spring.
