Hello peter, Im sure the ole girl would shoot like a bandit. If you charge the chamber from the mag, and clean. $500 at the door just a bit high for this old boy.

Mike,
By the time you add nigh on to $75 (or even more) for a proper, early magazine, plus the cost of transfer and shipping, that gun in that condition was no bargain! I think your final bid would have been about as high as I would have thought of going. I'm guessing somebody just had to have a "real" pre-dash Model 39. It would fill a slot, but not very spectacularly. JMHO of course, and YMMV.

Six months ago you could get a extremely nice one for about $400 - $450, often with the box and an extra magazine. I was in the market for one then so I was familiar with the going prices.

That is a sure indicator of lots of rounds through this pistol. I'm not talking a couple thousand, I'm think in terms of 10,000 plus. Without a magazine and given the wear and use, this is a $200 pistol at best. Whoever got it, may soon have buyer's remorse.

6 months to a year from now, this same gun could easily bring $650 or more.
