Safety Help

I bought a single sided safety lever for my cs9. The safety received was supposed to be for a 59-459. It has NO hole in it for the plunger and spring. This is NOT a picture of what I received, but I use it to illustrate the plunger sticking out there to the right. How does a safety lever not have that hole?
