Default Safety Help

I bought a single sided safety lever for my cs9. The safety received was supposed to be for a 59-459. It has NO hole in it for the plunger and spring. This is NOT a picture of what I received, but I use it to illustrate the plunger sticking out. How does a safety lever not have that hole? Thanks. How dumb am I? :-)

You probably got a safety body for a model 52.

I had an aftermarket (Safari Arms) version with no plunger and spring on my Model 39-2. Due to the dynamics of the operation of the safety, it worked, but it didn't have the positive stops the plunger would have given. It's been replaced now, but it would have still worked if I had left it in.

Thanks for the answers. I see from parts diagrams that the model 52's and the early 39's and 59's had a tensioning plunger hole in the slide, not the safety itself. Thanks!
