Default 3953 Slide to frame fit

The slide to frame fit is different on the 3953 than my other 3rd gen autos. The slide slightly fits over the frame and with the others there is a slight gap between the slide and frame. Why was the 3953 designed differently? Also is the 3913 of the same fit as the 3953? Unfortunately I don't have one to compare.

I'm guessing you are speaking about the rear edge of the 3953 slide and receiver being longer than that of the traditional DA/SA line of pistols. The longer slide and receiver in the DAO pistols was to conceal the partially cocked hammer.

No I am not wondering about the length of the slide. I am talking about how the slide fits on the frame.

Default Two Possibilities . . .

1. Someone started lapping the relative pieces to smooth the slide's movement and got carried away; and/or,

2. A spare slide was, more or less, mounted on a spare frame and, well, you eventually got the result.

Both of the above "possibilities" have occurred to me.

Later,

DC
