Is yours a steel frame gun? "The book" says some steel frame Model 39's are found in the range of 60000-64000 and were not completed until 1966, and then mentions s/n 68829 issued to a US naval officer in Vietnam on Feb 15 1967.

The factory does not have any ship date info on 1960s mod-39s.
Get a Letter.
