Added a CS9 to the growing addiction
Picked up a CS9 off the big auction site. It's in very good condition, and has all the paperwork, lock, extra mag, even the orange safety plug. I love that, just like the day it was brand new.
Feels great in my hand. Can't wait to shoot it, hopefully next weekend.

Great find, that's an excellent condition, early-production CS9! The single-sided safety makes it perfect for CC (as long as your right-handed).
S&W recently stopped making the recoil springs for the CS45/CS40, but they are still making them for the CS9 at the moment. I would strongly advise you to pick up a handful of them while you still can, and of course, throw in a fresh one before you shoot it. Here's the link to Midway: Smith & Wesson Recoil Spring S&W CS9C CS9S
The only other thing to take note of is that these early CS9's have the cheap plastic rear sight, which can easily be knocked out of alignment. I have heard reports of folks substituting a regular Novak metal rear sight for these, but I personally like the Trijicon SA29 night sights.
Enjoy your new pistol!

Or an LPA...makes it a 25 yard shooter.

Nice score! Looks to be one of the more minty examples out there. I like the blued version and not as many produced. Thanks for sharing.

Currently back ordered but they expect them in a week. Interestingly, it has been quite awhile since I shot my CS-9 and I think the reason was magazine issues. So, as long as y'all reminded me, new springs are coming!!!! Gracias!

I really like mine , especially after I sent it off to BMCM .If you really like your CS9 , you'll have to find a CS40 and 45 . And if you really want to go the whole way , a CS40/10mm . Have Fun .

That is a great looking gun. I love the lines and the shades of slide and body. Looks like it would fit the hand real nice. Look forward to some target pictures when you can get to the range.

Be advised imarangemaster, if you buy one, you will end up buying another. They are that good.
I bought an early production black CS9. Very nice 9mm carry. But I wanted stainless for the miserable and fairly constant, heat/humidity here in NC.
And being left handed, I wanted an ambi safety. So I picked up an LE trade in with night sights. Actually, I picked up 3 of them and kept the one that shot Winchester 147 RA9T most accurately.
I am currently evaluating new sights and carry gear for the black CS9. To turn it into a NPE - Non Permissive Environment - deep concealment piece. Perfectly suited for the job, for me. Regards 18DAI

BCMC did mine as well and a fine job he does! Had him do my 4513TSW at the same time.
And I'm about to send him a (new-to-me) CS45 (and it is a fact if you get one you'll want all three...I'm looking for the CS40 now).
He's also getting a 5946TSW to work a bit of his skill into.
