I have not owned a victory, but did not hear about nearly as many issues with the 22A and 22S. I have shot this 22S for 20 years with only cleaning and springs required. They are still not rare at around $350.

Not much info, but, is this gun clean and WELL LUBED? How many rounds thru it?
I have had one now for over 3 years. It eats any and all .22lr ammo as long as it is CLEAN and WELL LUBED, with or without a suppressor. With suppressor it gets dirty very quickly.

Assuming that the bore chamber is clean, then I would assume it's the recoil spring, get a few pound stronger spring from Wolfe or Springco.
I'm shooting Armscor 36 gr. ammo in mine and it cycles nicely, but will not lock open on last round.

Maybe try a Tandemkross captured recoil spring assembly for $20. Might not fix the issue but could be worth a try.

Hate to hear about your troubles. My Victory is the favorite out of my MarkIV and Buck Mark with the Buck Mark a close second. With so many trips back to S&W, they should just replace your pistol. I’d be making real nice with someone in customer service in an attempt to make that happen if I was in your position. Climb the ladder a little, try to get to someone with some stroke.

Good luck man!

Wow, that sux. My Victory is very reliable, as reliable as my MKIV. I hope S&W makes it right.
