Default Model 1006 - Current Fair Price

Hey guys! What’s the going rate for a 1006 in the box with 2 mags? I might have an opportunity to pick one up.

Well if you can get it for under or around 1k in the current market I would say your doing pretty good...

A quick search reveals that pending variables, box, mags and conditions of the gun will affect the value they are fetching well north of 1k...

Hope this helps...

A 1006 with correct box, two factory mags, and papers was close to $1000 before firearms and ammo prices skyrocketed. These days, $1000 would be a bargain.

With the original box and two mags, all in very good condition, $1200 would be fair.

I agree with Dan Zulu above, for what my opinion may be worth to you.

Where you're at has some to do with the price . If you live in one of those states that make it hard on us , expect to pay a premium .

Good info already shared, I’ll go a different direction. All total, S&W made a bit over 50,000 pistols chambered in 10mm over a run of about 4 years, six different models, which includes two different lengths and three different control/decocker styles and two different sight options.

The 1006 is the most common, highest production of all six models by a large margin.

Each pistol could possibly be priced at any number, but at the same time you could make a solid argument that if all else is equal, the market MIGHT say that a 1006 with adjustable rear sight might be at the lowest place in the value spectrum. (The 1046 occupies the top spot, only 151 units produced.)

I would say a 1006, box, papers and 3 mags are worth $1500.

And I don't care how many they made. It's not how many they made, but how many you own.

You needn’t care but the market reflects a number of things and quite often one of those things is scarcity and relative scarcity.

That’s what makes a 1046 a $3,000 to $5,000 gun when an even more rare and absolutely unequivocally FAR FAR better limited PC gun that doesn’t happen to be a 1046 go for less money.

Thanks for all of the input! I passed on the 1006, it was a bit too high in price at $1100 plus tax for me and it didn’t have the original box. I did pick up one that caught my attention though, a 4566-M with box and paperwork. Looks like it’s pretty rare which I did not know when I bought it. I am going to make a new thread and try to post some pictures.
