Pre-39 factory tool kits

I have never seen a pre-39 in the box with a complete tool kit,
rod, brush, and SAT. Anybody got one?

Yes - but I am not quite ready to part with it. Still in the original sleeve too.

Are we sure they shipped with a SAT? I've never seen a tool kit with an early gun that had one. But, I haven't seen them all. :-)

The “complete” original sets I’ve seen have not included the SAT.

We may never know for sure. Lot's of different variations of the cleaning kits have been used and S&W may not have been consistent on what was included with a particular gun. Also, these kits get traded and sold regularly so collectors put them in a box even if they don't belong.

My 39 came with a complete tool kit: screw driver, rod, brush and SAT. I still have the box with paper. It's still one of my favorites. Also with the extra mag too.
