Default Picked up a 5906

Went to a pawn shop yesterday to check out a Ruger Blackhawk, came home with a near perfect 5906 with one mag no box. Listed for $379., being retired Navy they gave me a 10% discount. Bought a rug for 7.99 to bring it home in, OTD price $372. Going to the range today to give it a run. I just couldn't walk a way from it. It's a beautiful piece.

You might want to check the model number stamped in your pistol.

Did you mean 5906?

5930? 5960? You either have a 5903 or a 5906

Good deal. Mags are still readily available.

You can get MecGar 15 or 17rd mags relatively cheap. They are the only aftermarket mag I would recommend.

Post a range report and some pictures after.

Agreed. Really nice deal on an all steel (ss) pistol.

Took it to the range today. Shoots a little left for me. Nice pistol

Congratulations on the find! And I hope you have better luck than I have, if you need magazines. I snagged a nice 5946 a couple of weeks ago, and it only had one mag. They are not as cheap and easy to find as they were just a couple of months ago it seems.

I'll show you mine, if you'll show me yours!

I just picked up some 17 rounders at Greg Cote LLC.
If you can live with blue, they have Mec Gars in stock. $23.00
Best,
Gary

Congratulations, the 5906 and its close variants are one of my favorite pistols, Great price for the times. Rigged, durable and accurate.

Gonna be another 5906 on the sales block soon. BCMC ill be doing a 5946 we're (he's) gonna make SA/DA and I'll sell the 5906 which won't be as smooth and handy as Bill will make the soon-to-be ex-DAO.

Oh, and a little time in the confessional and some penance prayers for stealing that 5906 would be in order

Dang! That's a pre-pandemic/panic price.

Unless that 5946 is a TSW model, Bill will be doing a whole heck of a lot of cutting and welding stainless steel.
