Even More Match Ammo for 52-1
Made a deal today for the pictured ammo. Yes, this is factory loads from the early 60's, as there are no ZIP Codes in the addresses on the boxes.

That stuff is like gold! Nice catch....
I retired 15 years ago and I didn't know how good I had it when on the sheriff's PPC Pistol Team. We were sponsored by Winchester. The ammo wasn't free to the department but all our match and practice ammo was provided and we could by additional ammo at cost!
When I retired I accumulated quite a bit of 38, 9mm and 45. In this drought I've sold a few cases to fellow shooters but I'm thinkin' I'll keep the rest!
My competition shooting days are over but I still like punching paper!

This makes 15 boxes of .38 Match Wadcutter ammo I have collected up in a little over a month. I load my own, but feel lucky finding this factory fodder.

Your post concerning Model 52 ammo reminded me of many years ago I stopped by Jimmie Craig's gun shop - had purchased 2-3 shotguns from there - and came within a couple of seconds of purchasing a new in-the-box Model 52. Don't remember the cost, but was several $$ more than the Trap T. I chilled out when I saw the prices of the 148 gr wadcutters. What a dumb decision I made as I have loaded many, many 148 gr wadcutters for my 14-4 and 36 since.

I too, have loaded many 148 grain wadcutter than I care to think about. I use them in my DAO PPC pre-14, my 52-1, my Victory Model , my Colt custom .38 Special Wadcutter gun and my 27-2. Since I am punching paper only I am going to the 148 grain wadcutter with 2.8 grains of Bullseye. That loading gives good accuracy and stretches supplies a long way.

In my area that is much more than a house payment, unless you live on the beach. 10 boxes of 50 to a case at $50.00 a box equals $500 times 20 cases equals $10,000. Heck of a house payment!!

I’ve seen the time when that would be a good down payment!
