Default Recent Purchases - 1006 and 6906

Hi Everyone

Thought I'd show you my latest two purchases which are both Third Gen S&W's. Neither came with boxes. The 1006 came from South Australia and ended up costing me $850 AUD ($650 USD). It only came with one magazine. The 6906 cost me $350 (about $270 USD) without magazines. (The factory magazines are 12 round capacity and we are limited to 10 round mags for civilians). I'll endeavour to find some 10 round mags but in the meantime, can use my 5906 mags.

Great buys! You could use a couple of the adapters from one of the sellers in this forum with the 5906 magazines. It makes the longer 5906 mag look almost like factory in a 6906.

Acquired a nice 6906-6906_mags1a-jpg

Default Nice score!

I love my two 1006s. You got the adjustable sight model as well. Very good. Grab any magazines that you can find as they are hard to come by, at least up here. Not sure about down under.

I have the same 1006 with the adjustable rear . Once I get it zeroed in , it shoots like a champ . Don't know if you're interested , but Bar Sto had some 1006 barrels left .
I dont't have a 6900 series pistol , but I have 2 469's and 2 669's . They are very accurate , more so than some of my full size . There was a post a while back about a company making mags for these pistols . I bought some and they are as well made as OE mags . If you do a search you may find them or someone may remember the name .

At current market you absolutely stole that 1006. Congrats.

$650 USD for a Model 1006 even with one magazine is about $500 less than you can find a similar one for here in the US. Spare mags here are about $75. Even if you have to pay $100 for a magazine in Australia, you will have a great gun at a very good price.
Nice acquisitions !

Congrats! I have a 1006 with with curved grips and AS. It shoots like a laser for me, the sights are easy to pick up.

Top one .

In Australia no less, I have no idea what 3rd Gen prices are like down under but those same two guns in worse condition cost quite a bit more in California for me.

Thanks for the comments everyone. These two will fit nicely into my 3rd Gen Semi-auto collection. Here is the rest of what I have so far.
