I have a 910 that I sometimes use in IDPA competition. It's one of the most reliable autoloaders that I've ever owned.

I have a 915 which was one of the 1st "Value Line" pistols. They are good reliable Smith & Wessons. parts are still around, like recoil springs ,grips etc. I like them better than the modern plastic fantastics! carry on!

I have a 908S and a Zander Special along with a NIB910 , NIB915 and a shooter 915 . I don't think I can say anything bad about any of my 1st m=, 2nd or 3rd gen's . They all have +/-'s , except for my PC's they are all positive , but when compared to modern pistols they stand alone .When you pay $400-1000 for a 20-30+ year old pistol that is just a mass produced pistol , that tells you they are well made pistols that will last at least a life time , maybe two .

Had a 908 and didn’t like it... felt thin, tall, and too steep of a grip angle. But no problem, just means more for you!

I have had all of them at some point. Now I only have the 910. It's a real beater/ truck gun but its as reliable as they come. My wife LOVES this gun more than any other S&W semi we own. She shoot's the lights out with it.
SO there is love for them. Just not a lot of resale value in them.

I don't have a 908 or a 910, but I do have the rarer variant. The Model 909.

I own both. Carried the 908 for a few years. Just a perfect carry gun to me. I also keep a 910 as my "truck gun." I very much enjoy shooting both. I may be biased though because I am obsessed with 3rd Gens... Currently have 27 of them, and counting...

In my opinion 908&909>915>910
908 because they bring a slight premium due to single stack similarity to the 3900 guns.

A 908 is my go-to gun whether carried or beside the bed. (In cold weather, I carry a 469; otherwise, it resides in a hidey-hole I made by the front door.) Slim, accurate, and robust. Although I've sworn off gun purchases for awhile, I'm being tempted to add a 910/915 for house duty. That being said, I see an on-line sale of a 909 for $499 that looks interesting. I had a couple of 39s back in the day and remember how nice that curved backstrap felt. Maybe?

I like them. I have a 908, a 410 and two 915s. I went through a stretch a few years ago that every gun I bought was a Smith & Wesson.

I used to own both a 910 and 915. I bought them from the same gun shop for well under $300/ea. I eventually sold the 910 but I now regret it, as it was a very sweet-shooting pistol. I still have the 915 though. The following pictures help show the differences. The 915 was basically a standard third-generation Smith with a few less machining cuts and a matte blue finish. The 910 was considerably different and much simplified, yet just as functional.

IMHO, the only thing you lose with the “Value Line” pistols, other than the 915, is their modularity... the ability to swap virtually all parts (including barrel and slide) with the “Main Line” of S&W pistols. Since I like to do a lot of switching and swapping, this is a consideration for me, otherwise they are pretty much cheaper versions of their nicer finished but higher priced stablemates.

BTW my 910 was noticeably more accurate than my 915. Don't ask me why, but it was. The only reason why I kept the 915 instead was because I preferred the looks of it.
