My first post and it is a question. I have an S&W Performance Center 1911, item number 170343. It is the stainless model with the dark blue and black grips. Due to old eyes I want to install a red dot sight but can't figure out if the rear dovetail is BoMar or LPA. I called S&W customer service and the rep said he was told it was a Novak but the pictures of the different cuts I've seen don't hold with that answer. Also if anyone has a recommendation on the type of base for a Burris Fastfire red dot I would appreciate it greatly.

Vortex Viper / Venom S&W 1911 Adjustable Sight Mount (fits Burris FastFire and Docter)

I have several of these mounts for 1911s, but not one for a S&W, otherwise I would offer it to you cheap.

I plan on mounting my FF3 onto my RIA 1911a2 10mm. My RIA uses a LPA type cut, and there are differences. Based on pictures of your model 1911, this should be the base for you.

Go to the EGW web page and search Smith 1911...there are two different mounts Smith uses, the adjustable rear sight mount is 49296 for the FFIII optic.

EGW mounts are excellent and worth every cent you pay for them. bob
