Default I carry the CS9, bout time I shot it

I carry the CS9 A LOT! It started off as a pistol for carrying when I "couldn't have a gun" - Church, social gatherings with non gun folks ect. Then the CS9 became my carry gun during the miserable heat and humidity - which is about 9 months of the year here.

And working at the range, I usually carry a full size 45, sometimes a compact 45. But as I get old and tired, there are many days lately where I just don't care to carry a lot of gun. So, the CS9 gets the nod. So easy to carry you forget its either in or on your belt.

But I realized the other day, I had been carrying the CS9 for months, without shooting it. Yea, I clean it and lube it regularly. But as I tell students, you need to practice with your carry gun. Especially the tiny light weight carry guns with the short sight radius. And I believe in practicing what I preach. So, yesterday I had a student no show and found myself with time and ammunition - while again carrying the CS9. No time like the present.

My CS9 wears the excellent TercGen grips. Thank you again TercGen! I put a rubber textured grip sleeve over them. Anchors the tiny gun in my hand. Makes it very controllable. I have Novak Low Mount night sights on mine too. Good fast sight picture. And a flash sight picture is where this pistol shines. Very easy to aquire the front sight and the excellent trigger enables fast, accurate hits. A good trigger is fundamental to accurate shooting. Period. The people who tell you "...you can work around the trigger!" are either selling guns, or own guns with lousy triggers. Nuff said.

I shot around 50 rounds of mixed weight ball, 115, 124 and 147. And then I finished up with some old carry ammo - Winchester Ranger 147 grain RA9T. The target in the picture was the last target I shot, using RA9T as pictured. The gun is cleaned up. The two larger circles are 2.5 inches across and were shot using a flash sight picture with all shot strings started in DA. All the smaller circles were shot slow fire in SA. All the shooting was done at 7 yards. What do the plastic gun crowd say? "...this is not a target pistol!..." I am very pleased with the CS9s accuracy and reliability.

The CS9 is for up close and personal work. A great get off me gun or BUG on duty. And due to its small size and light weight, easily concealed and a joy to carry. Regards 18DAI

I carry 124gr Federal P9HS1G1 Hydra-Shok in mine. I find it's easy to shoot and accurate. Like you, I carry it "when I'm not supposed to have a gun." Today that was when we got our vaccine shots at CVS. I knew that I was going to have to take off my jacket and didn't want the nurse to faint.

CS9 was my primary carry for decades, I found it to be extremely reliable and robust for the size. It gives great groups up to 15-20 feet, and I always took it to the range, because it was still fun to shoot. It now rotates with my Model 340PD Airlite - which is not as much fun to shoot, but lighter and smaller.

I don't carry mine , but I do shoot it . When I got mine I sent it off to BMCM . He did his magic on it and it sure can shoot now . He did put a fiber optic on the front which helps these older eyes . He's worked on most of my CS's , and it makes a world of difference .

18 , what holster do you use . If I do decide to carry it , I want a nice holster . If you carry yours a lot , I'm sure that's what you're using .

cherrypointmarime I use two holsters with the CS9. For OWB a Don Hume JIT slide, number 30 and for IWB a DeSantis Nemesis model E1.

The Nemesis was originally a pocket holster. And with a flat 3913TSW mag base pad on a CS9 mag, I have pocket carried it a couple of times. Its doable, but NOT my preferred mode of carry. I use the Nemesis as an IWB holster. And when carrying the CS9 it is what I use 80%+ of the time.

In hundreds of draws, I have never had a Nemesis holster come up with the gun. Of course, you cannot reholster with the Nemesis without removing it andputting the gun into it first.

I currently have a very kind and TALENTED gentleman making me some holsters. He made me an EXCELLENT IWB for my CS45 a few years ago. As soon as I have his permission to post his company and contact info, I will do so. I bet he could make you one for a CS9.

And as soon as I recieve and wring out my new holsters, I will post detailed reviews, here and in the leather gear section. Regards 18DAI

I don't have a CS-9, but my daily carry is a 6946. Mine really likes 147 grain Federal HST and Winchester Ranger-T, both standard pressure loads.

I'm so glad to know that I'm not the only one! I actually shot my EDC 6906 today for the first time in 2 years! And only fired a couple of magazines when I got it.

Shameful! Embarrassing! Totally wrong!

But I trust all of my 3rd gens, and I do have new springs in it. I also bid an a CS9 locally today!

Revisiting this thread. Because I got lax again on shooting my CS9. I am still carrying it a lot.

In fact, it may be my most often carried pistol. But I don't think I've shot it since last April. Going to fix that today. I've got 150 rounds of ball ammo to run through it. I will be doing some assorted drills with the CS9 as well.

Bonus is, the little CS9 is fun to shoot. Regards 18DAI
