HOW is it marked? Pretty neat. I've only seen the ring hammer once or twice over the years.

Something neat and businesslike about the 39 series, and the earlier the better. They just look like a semi-auto should. Nice find.

I have a Model 39, serial 65xxx, that has a ring hammer and a 39-2, serial A164xxx that has a ring hammer.

Hello batman, I would have expected that your two 39s would have the ring hammer. There was a long Thread on the ring hammer. Very interesting discussion and varied opinions on why the hole existed and then disappeared. I say initially it was introduced in 1954 to resemble some European autos. Why, not a clue. Dropped because the eng. dept. decided to cut production costs.
