Wanted to see who else out there has love for the TSW.

Mine all have CTC Lasergrips or Hogue Grips.

Seems like a perfect platform. All calibers, DAO, SA/DA, ambi safety and/or decocker, good mag capacity, lightweight alloy or substantial all steel feel. Seems like all the bases are covered. I do prefer the accessory rail.

I am missing some that I am still hunting for but here's the family so far.

I started last year with 2 40tsw’s. Being off for 5 months with a short term disability depleted the mad money though. Back to work now and starting the build up.

I probably have at least half a dozen . My favorite is my 4566TSW followed closely by my CHP40 . I had LPA adjustables put on both by BMCM and they are very accurate range guns .

Two 4006TSWs- One commercial spur hammer unit with the add-on black rail and one CHP unit with the integral stainless rail.

I have a 5906TSW and a Fresno Sheriff integral railed 4566TSW. I used to have a pre-rail 4013TSW which I've since sold and regret doing so. I'd really like a CHP 4006TSW but they're actually quite difficult to get in California.

No "cheese graters" on any of my auto's........Never!

S&W Accumulator

The "railed" TSW models (whether riveted, integral, removed, or never installed in the first place) are my absolute favorites because they represent and embody the culmination of knowledge gleaned by S&W in over a half century of fighting pistol production.

The "railed" TSW models were the finest combat pistols ever produced by S&W.

Those are the pistols of which I have the most, by a wide majority.

Here's the only TSW I own. One of a few built to sell to the Kentucky State Police, that never happened. Some political wind blew them over to Glocks back then. Not sure how many were made without the rail, but it's that way I prefer it. This is probably my most accurate pistol.

I am a big fan of the TSW pistols. I have a 5996TSW and a CHP 4006TSW. Both are just classic pistols, and I love the addition of the light rail, especially the integrated rail on the
4006. I only wish the triggers were a bit lighter. Even after having the S&W factory action job on the 5906, the triggers are still a pound or two heavier than I’d prefer.

Enjoy my 3. 4513,4013, 3913. No cheese graters! Shoot the 45 the most.

I absolutely love my TSW collection. I think my next one will be a 4513 like nocents. I like them with, without the rail, depending on bbl length. That's a nice collection there, OP!

My latest is a 4056 with no rail. Sort of tripped into buying it on a whim, meaning "it's off roster in CA so I must buy it ...."

... what made the TSWs, "TSW"?

Some had rails, but some didn't...some had the
Hogue rubber, some not.

Was there any common factor, aside from slide
imprint and having "TSW" tacked on the model
name?

I've got a 5943TWS still NIB. I bought it right after S&W announced they were discontinuing the 3rd gens and they went half price at the local Gander Mountain.

I'd been eyeballing the only two 3rd gens in the display counter for a while thinking they might be discounted when S&W pulled the plug on them. I missed the 3953TSW, but I got this one.

If I had half a brain I should have driven to every GM within a 100 miles to see if there were any more TSWs left.

S&W learned people wanted special guns after its Team Smith & Wesson specialty competition pistols were sought by many. It's also a slug, .356 caliber and found at Underwood today.

Another, similar occurrence was the Performance Center (PC), at which skilled craftsmen once worked.

Now, maybe it was a lack of craftsmen or otherwise, but the original PC was shuttered about a decade ago (if memory serves; Sevens!?). Yet, one can buy a "fresh" so-called PC today . . . well, somewhere.

I also really like the TSW’s but I’m not “all out” to get a large representative library of them.

I don’t have many of them but I’ve purposely sought each one out. (Except for the 4006 CHP that I got when excellent condition ones were available for great prices.)

I’m personally partial to the ones w/o rails pre and post. It limits the ease of procurement for me but that’s just fine. I’m only looking for two others, (maybe four, ,) and I’ll be “there.”

I’ve said it before here but I’ll say it again. A couple of my TSW’s are assembled with the same attention and perfection as some of their comparable PC counterparts that I have. They are just as accurate and were less expensive.

I love TSW pistols! Only smith and Wesson semi autos I buy actually. The next one I’m looking for is a LNIB 5943TSW that would be sweet. My favorite by far is the WVSP 4566tsw, S&W needs to bring these back, at a MSRP of $900-$1000 I would be a buyer they are quite frankly the best combat/LE/general pistols made ever.

Most impressive collection, USMC. I go after LEO trade ins and have a few TSW's by "default".

Great guns and I had many come and go. Smith could make these again, sell them for 4 figures and they would move.

Just have one. Note that the slide has the original 3rd Gen style roll mark instead of the TSW billboard. Melonite finish. I just had Tooltech replace the Tritium sights.

I only own one, but for me it's the one a California Highway Patrol 4006TSW.



I wanted one of these since I first laid eyes on one, and just last year I was finally able to obtain one. I just ordered some KSD walnut grips for it online today so that I can finally outfit this retired veteran of the California Highway Patrol the distinguished grips that it deserves.
