3rd Gen Red Dot Mount
Has anyone come across someone that makes red dot mounting plates for 3rd Gen S&W 9mm autos with the large adjustable factory sight? I haven't seen any yet and wondered if they are available. Thanks for any help on this....

Not to hijack your thread but I’d like to see a listing for the same kind of base to go on slides with the smaller dovetail for non-adjustable sights. These pistols are all so long out of production that accessories for them are getting harder to find.
Someone mentioned “Aristocrat” in a recent thread here, but I haven’t found them yet.

Wondering if slide milling is possible with these?
In my experience, slot adapters mount the sight too high.

Not sure about milling these slides with the springs and such underneath the sight. I think Aristocrat may have a base for the non-adjustable sight, but not the adjustable one.

Yes....I have designed one for my .4506 and I believe the long dovetail is the same dimensions...I am having the mount machined at a CNC shop at this time. I have 3D printed this design in plastic to check-fit. If you are interested I will be glad to send you the plastic mock-up to see if it might work for your 9mm.

How did that Romeo Zero reflex sight work out for you, guzzitaco? We talked about it when you were installing it, but I don’t recall seeing any field test results. Is it holding up well riding back and forth on your slide during recoil? I’m still fiddling around thinking about putting one on that 439 slide that’s sitting forlorn in my parts box.
Regards,
Froggie

I have shot it very little due to the ammo madness...but I love it !!!
small, lightweight...I'm turning 49 this year and my eyes are not what they use to be...gives me and edge when I'm competing with my kids in the range...
in my book...it's a winner...

FORTY NINE??? I’ve got over twenty years on you, amigo! I can tell you all about old eyes. I used to collect coins when I was a kid and read mint marks and other details without even using a magnifying glass. Now I need my glasses to tell the denomination or even nation of origin. I’d say I’m really ready for a red dot, or a seeing eye dog.
