Model 52 Target Grips
A friend bought a 52 that had these grips on it. He changed them out for standard factory grips. Has anybody ever seen these grips before. Seem to be well made as in a factory. Just curious is all.

Thanks, there is no data of any kind impressed or stamped on the inside of these. Some one has written M52 in ink inside.

There's a set on a 52-1 I bought, but I don't know where they came from.

I mounted them on my 52 and shot it on Friday. I like the thumb rest on the left side grip. Not to sure of the palm rest on the right side grip. Will leave them on there for more shooting and eval'ing them in my pea-picking little brain housing group.

Shot Again....
I shot my 52 again yesterday. Decided to take the Herrett's off and box them up. The bottom portion of the grip sticks down past the butt of the pistol. This to me makes it awkward to insert the magazine. Also the added length of the grip makes it impossible to fit in my Pachmayr Pistol Case. So off into the storage bin they go.

The Harrett National grips/stocks are pretty good and less costly than having a custom set made. I like mine and I think they help with a consistent grip on my M52.

Found This........
I know this a revival of an old thread......But, I found this ad when I was going through some old American Rifleman. Thought it should be included in this thread.

Has anybody checked with Herrett to see whether they are still available (adjustable or not)?

From about the late Fifties until the popularity of Bullseye Pistol Shooting sort of faded, Herrett grips showed up on the firing line quite often. They were affordable and most importantly could be had in styles that fitted (or could be adjusted to fit) a wide variety of hands and gripping styles. I had a set of Nationals on a slant grip High Standard but never really was able to settle in shooting them consistently.
Oddly enough, Herrett also made a style of grips called “Trainers” to replicate, as well as possible, the feel of a Colt Gov’t Model grip. In this way, the shooter could develop one style of gripping his gun, leading to better scores with the Hardball Gun. At least that’s how the story went. As with all things, “You pays your money and you takes your chances!”
