I have a 4506-1 with the rear sight pictured below and I would like to replace it, what other sights are available? I don't need night sights, a two dot sight would be fine and if I have to I can have the slide worked on a bit to fit a new sight. Thank you.

If you're suggesting a swap I might be interested but will have to talk to my gunsmith to see if he could fit the adjustable sight and I would like to take the weekend to see what else is available. Let me know if you're talking about a swap.

Look in the brownells catalog or website, I put MMC on my 1026 and 5906 pc, and lpa on my super 9, nice sights and no milling, fit the novak cut on s&w, which is differant than everyone elses novak cut.

Basically with the 4506 guns you have your choice of factory dovetailed sights(early guns), factory adjustable or factory installed Novaks(later guns). The Novaks are what you have and are by far the best of the lot for fixed sights.
Just what are you trying to acheive anyway? Do you want adjustables to replace your fixed sights? If that is the case I would be looking for another 4506 with adjustables and either trae or buy it out right.
If your simply looking for aftermarket "better" sights your not going to have much luck there and after spending the cash I doubt you'll notice much of an improvement.

Thank you, I took a look but I think I'm just going to ask around for a factory adjustable sight. I considered the LPA but I think I would have to see it on a 4506 before I bought one, I've only seen it on 9mm's and it looks a little big to me.

I like the look of my Novak sight but I also like the factory adjustable sight and I'm going to be sending my 4506-1 to Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing to have it polished soon and thought if I could get an adjustable sight or something else I really like I would have it installed while it was at Ford's.

I understand!
The problem with the factory adjustable sights is that it's a pretty big assembly that is mounted in a large cutout on the top of the slide. For purely practical reasons I wouldn't want to attempt the retrofit to a pistol with the Novaks installed.
To be perfectly honest I like the Novaks better myself, even though my 4506 is the older style with the adjustables installed. FWIW the Novaks are MUCH better than the previous fixed sights that S&W offered on the 4506.

Pretty much set on keeping my novak sight now but would like to see how the LPA sight fits but I don't want to buy it and then waste my money because it looks like ****.

Why don't you email Novaks and ask them whats available for your gun.
Novak's also makes a really nice adjustable carry sight.

Hi:
Have you considered selling your Model 645 and purchasing a different Model Smith and Wesson that has a sighting system more to your liking?

Not really interested in another novak sight, I like the sight I have and the look of an adjustable sight.
