4046TSW with no markings
besides the model and serial number there are zero markings to indicate anything about this gun, all the image searches ive made
have yet to display a match, there isnt even a s&w logo on the side opposite of the model and serial side... this pistol leaves me with several questions, has anyone seen one like this? were markers optional, is it possible someone polished off the marks?
a link to my drive folder with more photos/questions
thanks!

Sadly, I have seen a couple of TSW guns like that . Someone polished it. Removing all the markings that it had originally.
But luckily, the 4046TSW frame is steel. So, no real damage done, other than asthetics......as long as whoever polished it didn't remove material from the frame rails. Regards 18DAI

Here's what mine looks like - unpolished. Mine is a former Brinks pistol. Whomever had your pistol prior to you probably didn't like the fact it may have had a corporate logo on it. As for me, I thought it was cool enough to keep. When I purchased this pistol it was in sad need of cleaning - but some elbow grease, new recoil springs and a new set of grips brought it back to top-notch condition.

The grips there look really nice on it, I've searched local shops high and low for some replacement grips but no luck, same for mags, I needed more than 2 for sure so I finally internet'd 2 11rounders and it feels a little more complete now.
Honestly I'm reaching the point where I might be willing to part ways with it for the right price or maybe even trade it just to try something else

Grips are typically found online at places like Midway, Numrich, Brownell's and Ebay.
I don't see the point in getting rid of it, though. You aren't likely to find another all that easily in any condition. As for the polishing - so what? Unless you bought it thinking it was a pristine collector piece, any marks beyond the serial number and the model number are not going to make it a better gun. I think many of us on this forum like putting together something and don't mind the search for components - that's half the fun. And there are many examples put together by some very talented gunsmiths both here and elsewhere that remove things like logos and the like simply by machining the slides to change the contours or lightening them. No matter what, ultimately it's your gun, but it's not some odd duck by any means.

The grips are from Hogue and with enough online time and a little luck you can possibly find them for around $20. Be aware that they do "thicken" the grip A LOT but I personally like that for my hands and feel it helps tame the recoil even more.
The markings on the slide are done with a laser. Frankly, I've seen many more pistols with the laser markings nearly worn off than I have seen with them in pristine condition.
I will echo what 18DAI has mentioned - so long as whomever polished the pistol didn't remove any material from the slide rails then this is nothing more than an unfortunate aesthetic choice. If they did polish the rails and remove some material it will "loosen up" the slide and effect accuracy - the TSW models are known for closer tolerances. Don't like the polished finish? Then strip it down, mask off the rails and have it bead blasted.

Search "s&w 4006 grips" on Ebay and you'll likely find a set.
