Default 40131SW Tactcal Value?

I am going to be selling a S&W 40131SW Tactcal .40 Cal Pistol for a friend and I was curious as to the general value of this pistol?

Thanks

What shape is it in, does it have the original box and accessories and is it a railed or a pre-rail? I used to have a pre-rail 4013TSW that had some minimal use on it that I bought with 3 magazines and the original box and manual for about $900 and sold it a couple hundred rounds later for $1K. But that's also taking the California premium into account, so in a free state that probably would've been no more than $750.

Recent sales on the big auction site have been running between $400 and $700. Much depends on condition and what goes with it. The pre-rail seem to be selling for a bit more than the railed models.

I paid $710 for my pre-rail 1997 manufactured 4013tsw back in July. Came with 3 mags. Nothing else. Gun itself is in really good shape. Would venture a guess at 95+ condition. I think I got a good deal.

I paid around $550 8 months ago for a well used railed CHP 4013tsw. The slide is in great shape other than the faded writing and the finish on the frame is scratched but I love it and carry it all the time off duty. Doubt I'll ever send it into S&W to get refinished. I prefer knowing it was used and loved in its past life.

Literally just got sent to a homicide conference over the weekend and I was 1 out of maybe 10 guys, with a total of 1100 attendees, who weren't carrying a glock on their hips...

Me personally, I think the railed version is much prettier....

I paid $575 shipped from another forum member. One mag, no box.

But it is in excellent condition, and look at my range reports to see how well it shoots.

I paid $600 about a year ago for a NOS 4013TSW no rail. Box, paperwork, extra mag. I was pretty happy with that deal...

There's one local for a hair over $400 that's sat in the case for a few months. If I had a use for .40 I'd be pretty tempted to go for it.
