picked up a mod 41 the s/n starts with a T is it a toolroom gun

Is the T the only letter before the numbers?

Can you post a picture of the 41 you are referencing? You can redact the last few numbers if you’d feel more comfortable.

I think seeing the serial number, (or most of it,) frame and barrel would help answering your question.

You can do a search here on “Tool Room 41’s” also. They have been discussed before.

Without a more specific Serial number it is impossible to answer your question. Apparently, S&W started using serial numbers that start with a T in 1984 however they usually contain two more letters after the T.

Starting serial number was TAA1985.

If yours ONLY has a T and no letters after it, I have no clue - lol

There were a few tool room pistols made. Pictures and a serial number would help.

Or enough information was received and the question was answered.

Like the TAT prefix is different from just a T prefix or there was some research done on Tool Room examples.

At least there were responses posted. I don’t think I had a single response from my first post.
