Just a question on a variation that I have seen on some guns. In the 469 discussion just below I saw a 469 with just a left sided safety where as mine has an ambidextrous safety. Is this simply a difference between 1st, 2nd, or 3rd generation 469's or can you get a part that allows you to remove the safety lever on the right side of the gun and then cap it so that it has that smooth look like the DAO models? I hope this makes sense and is not a moronic question. Thanks for any response.

Hi dacoontz,
My S&W 559, two 469's, and my 3913
all came from the S&W factory with
just a left-sided factory when I purchased.

I did a past post on access to left-handed
safeties for the 3913.
Midway had a S&W Factory replacement.
