Metal Magazine Base Plates...
I have some stainless floor plates that fit a double-stack 9mm magazine, but stamped S&W only, not S&W and 9mm, like some older complete 9mm mags. Does anyone know what kind of magazine they came from? I have used some to make a couple magazines from spare parts, so I know they work, just not sure what they are.

Should fit any of the double stacks, 6906 and 5906 for certain.

Yes, check your inbound.
I'd still be interested in finding out if there was a reason why some were stamped 9mm, and some S&W only.

I don't know for certain, but it could be as simple an answer as the stamping die wore out.

Yes, or they decided to eliminate one operation, etc... or S&W was trying to tell us something.
I just thought it might be nice to know as I was playing musical chairs with magazine parts. So far they seem to fit the 5906 and 6906 magazines I tried.

Yes, I have some, also and those and the double stack 40 s&w are what I've found they fit.

Maybe they were made by different sub contractors.

Can’t have one that says 9mm being used on a 40. So they probably switched it to S&W.

I was under the impression that the older floorplates were stamped with both "9mm" and "S&W", and later versions were simply "S&W".
These came on 2 double stack .40 magazines I recently picked up and are obvious replacements to work with the PGS adapters that somehow lost their plastic floorplates. They would work just fine but I did end up doing some switching around with some plastic spares in my parts stash to make things visually correct.
