The 845 shown is a single action, or at least it sure looks like one.

Don't have a S&W 1911 auto yet, but after looking at these nice pics, I am sure thinking about it. I really like the external extractor of the Sig and S&W 1911s.

Well I got to repalce my S&W 645 so now I have both a S&W 645 and a S&W 469. I sold the 1911 to cover a very large bill and 4 weeks later I get the chance to replace the 1911 with the 645. I paid $499 with just two magazines.

My police trade-in 4506-1 with adjustable MMC sights

My first handgun: 39-2 with Eagle Rosewood grips. I prefer those grips much more than the original walnut grips.

My old nickel #459, swapped it for another #31-1 so I would have a matched pair.

I like this series of pistols and have no idea why they were dropped from production.

wilshire,

Sweet looking 3913! When you get done with that pistol, I'd like to know what all you changed.

Thanks,

Jerry

Thanks for the comps gentlemen! I did the grips myself as I wanted something a bit different from the standard S&W straight back grip. The grips are a set of 390X with the arched backstrap that I cut down to fit the shorter frame, I used the plastic insert from a set of Houges to take care of the mainspring. I then used rough grit sand paper to shape everything and remove the factory molded in checkering, I left them just a bit rough to still have something to hold onto. I have thought about going all the way to fitting a backstrap from a 39 and using cut down 39 wood ala a Devel gun but it is a lot of work to do so.
