I like the black slide so much better. Super-reliable pistol...100% so far with over 1500 rounds through it of various types (literally one hundred percent!). This is perhaps one of the most under-rated guns ever.

Hi All,
New member here, just wanted to show off the goodies. Here are a couple of mine that haven't been posted. I won't bore the thread with pics of guns that have already been posted.
Cheers,
This is a first generation Shorty Forty, this is my carry gun. This was of course the first series of guns to come out of the PC.
This is a second generation Shorty Forty, this one was purchased new and has been in the safe ever since.

Well, I have to confess the two-tone is actually a well-used 5903 frame and an equally well-used 915 upper. I used to have the 6904 slide and lasergrips (both pictured below it on a 915 frame) on the 5903 frame. That made it almost the absolute perfect carry gun. The squared trigger guard, however, didn't fit some of my holsters quite right so I swapped the 5903 frame for the 915 frame and now have what, for me anyway, is the absolute end-all carry pistol.
Since the 5903 is pretty well scratched up from police duty (before my time with it) as is the slide that is currently on it, I was planning to refinish both in DuraBake snow gray. But then again, maybe I'll do the slide in matte black to contrast with the gray frame. When I get it done I'll post the final result. It will have to wait until I get back from FrontSight, hopefully next month, as I plan to use that gun really hard.
BTW The bottom center pistol (3914) is DuraBaked in matte black which came out suprisingly well considering how little effort it was to do.

Shorty4T,
Is there a chance of you posting pictures of the right sides of the two different generations?
Mine was shipped early in 94' and I don't know whether it's first or second generation.
It has the black hammer and trigger like the second generation.
Thank you,
BM1

BM1,
You have the last variety of the first generation (There are at least 3) #170011
All have PCS serials and were made up to early '94
The second generation has a longer frame tang and a checkered front strap made in late '94.
Also SPC serial and #170060 product code

I went looking for a Glock and came home with a Smith twice. Both have had plenty of range time and not a single issue with either.
