Thanks, I'm very happy with how it turned out. The color is satin mag with graphite black controls.

Managing a LGS has its advantages...I am directly in line behind the owner to dibs on the used guns coming in. In reality it seems that I am the only one with a thing for older S&W's.

Nice
I will not judge your 439 by the company it keeps.

Hey MachGT, I bought one just like this the other day but gave 300 for it. Came with case and almost 10 boxes of ammo. Not a bad deal.

My 439, because it was given to me by my father in-law at his passing. I like carrying his gun. Call it sentimental.

The pistol yes, frisbee no! Found it today for a very very nice price, figured I'd give the 3rd Gens one more try. Just need to see if I can use this one without constantly shooting super low.

It is a 6906. Range report! Historically I've always shot third gens really low. My old 6906, 3913, 5906TSW, 4566TSW, all the same deal. This was my last shot at digging this platform.
That's the first mag through it. Lower right was the first two DA pulls, then somehow I kinda just strung them up into the red slowly. Last round was a bit right with the DA trigger (these were all 20yds).
I put another 300 through it and now I'm pretty dead on with both SA and DA, though I'm curious to see if the improvement will still be there by next range day or if I'll be messing around all over again. Other than that it really is a lovely gun with a fantastic trigger, and I'd really love to start carrying it if I can maintain the POI.

That should get the job done.
The 6906 with a MecGar 17rd mag is my preferred EDC.

I really don't dig the target. Where I'm now I feel pretty good, but it's going to depend on the first fifty rounds the next range day. I'm usually a fairly good handgun shooter and I'd do a fist sized group in the red with the G19 shooting a little faster. But man the 6906 is such a fun gun
