any of you target shooters know if the m52 has a 10" twist? what about the m14?

I'm not certain but I seem to remember the literature for the Smith & Wesson .38 spl. revolver (Mod. 52 auto also), claimed about a 1 in 18" rate of twist. You should be able to check it by marking a cleaning rod and running a jag with a tight fitting patch down the barrel. Simply calculate the length in inches required to make a full rotation and you have your rate of twist.

One Turn in 18.75. Gil Hebard article has the factory specs, of the model 52.
