I don't have an XDM, but I do have an XD40. I've had it for several years and I really like the pistol. I want an XDM, it is the XD platform with some excellent upgrades.

I saw one at the range last week. A retired FBI guy was shooting it, and he told me he loved it. They are getting a lot of good reviews in the gun magazines.

I already have a M&P 9mm, so I don't need another high-cap polymer 9mm...but there's just something about the XDm that I really like. If I don't pick one up within the next year, I'll be surprised.

I have the XDm in 9mm and love it. Shoots where I point it, easy to carry, really nothing bad to say about it...and 20-rounds at a time, too!

I also have a 9mm XDM. I absolutely love it. I'm sure the .40 would be just as awesome, especially with all the rounds it holds.

Yes I recently picked up an XDm .40 and am extremely happy with the gun. Its a pleasure to shoot and fits my hand very well, and I have small hands but you can change the backstrap if you need to adjust it. I have only put about 100 rounds through it and it has worked perfect from day 1. It one of the easisest to clean also. Its a big gun no doubt about that, but it is surprisingly thin though. My Walther PPS .40cal is only 1.04" and my XDm is 1.18" at the grip the slide release and take down lever make it 1.29" overall. I can either have 7 shots or 17 ready to go BANG and for not much more in width thats not bad. I am waiting for my Tucker IWB holster to really see how well I can hide it but even with a Don Hume H721 OT OWB holster it carries and conceals better than you might expect with just a cover shirt or windbreaker. The Walther is a super gun also and serves as a BUG in the same caliber as my primary or as a deeply concealable weapon when that is my only option. I find it a good 1-2 punch combination.

If you can rent or borrow one at a range somewhere I would reccomend it.
