Problem with 669 after reassembly
Hello, I have a 669 which was having an issue so I disassembled it to have a look, clean and lube it. After I reassembled it I couldn't get the slide back on. I took it down again and now I noticed that the decocking plate (the one far right of looking at the back) doesn't spring up. Any ideas as to why? Everything looks good.

did you do a complete disassembly? sounds like the spring that should be under that lever might be missing.

It does sound like that spring has gone missing. Maybe you can find it?
If you can’t they are still readily available but a pain since shipping would be more than a spring.

I did. The spring is there but it doesn't reach out of the hole to the lever. I'll double check when I get home.

The lever on the far right is the firing pin safety lever The "decocking plate" you refer to would be the sear release lever. The sear release lever is properly located on the right side nearest the hammer so it's sandwiched in between the hammer and the firing pin safety lever. If you inadvertently got those two levers transposed, that would cause a problem.
Cheers
Bill

a picture of the top of the frame showing the 3 levers might help us diagnose the problem.

It looks like what “BCMC” suggested was correct.
I can’t see exactly what’s going on but yes I can see the spring is there.
Kinda looks like your right side levers are/were reversed.
Here’s a close up that hopefully you can see. Pictured is a marked 669 but a 6906.
I edited/added a schematic, sometimes it makes more sense, at least to me.

They're the same as the ones in the picture you posted and the way the schematic shows. Number 20 didn't spring up though.

Looks maybe bound up on something? Can you lift it manually? If you pull the trigger back does it push up?
Why didn't the slide go back on, that being down wouldn't stop it it needs to be pushed down to get the slide on anyway.

I'm not sure, it was binding somewhere but i got it back on. It lifts manually but doesn't stay up. There's nothing pushing it up.
