S&W 39-2 rear sight lollypop replacement
Help! I inherited my dad's 39-2. It has a broken rear sight. I know I can just replace the blade but I already bought the whole lollypop. so i just rather swap it all out. BUT!!!! I can not find a video, DIY videos or instructions on how to replace the lollypop rear sight. how do I take off the old rear sight and replace the new lollypop rear sight? TYIA. FYI. I thought it was just lifting the spoon and twisting/rotate it, but that does not seem to be the case. Any 411 would be great. Thank you.

When I watched my 39-2 have it’s sight replaced by S&W LEO Armorer, that’s what he did, lift the front of the tang (by inserting a little bladed tool under the front of the tang to release the pressure, then turn and lift. Replacement was simply the reverse.

counter clockwise to remove, watch for the spring under the sight!

Unfortunately, the spoon broke and needed to use vice grips and a lot of power to get it to turn and take off.
