I'm and old guy with a bunch of S&W revolvers. Fortunately, almost all are pre '68 and the one that aren't are pretty close to it. Yesterday a 625 showed up on the local internet site and I gobbled it up. It's much more modern than I'm used to and the grips are totally unacceptable. I immediately ripped them off only to discover that my new revolver is round butted (I told you about old, remember). Although all of my big S&W's are square butt, I'm completely round butt tolerant but I'm at a loss as to what grips to order. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

PS I shot great out in the back yard this morning.

I have no idea how this got here rather than with the revolvers!

I use the Hogue round butt to square butt Monogrip on my 625. And I was also surprised by the RB (and am now drawing SocSec ). Those JM grips would be great on a J-frame...maybe.

I got the ones that you see on my 625-6 from Altamont. They are G10 material which I normally would not touch with a ten foot pole, but these grips work real well for me. I can recommend them highly.

The scope was from working up some loads. It is no longer on the gun.

My 625-2 (Model of1988) wears these R2S Ace Custom stocks. I am always on the lookout for these, and they are hard to find. The rubber ones that were standard on this model (Pachmayr) aren't terrible, but I have an aversion to rubber grips. Enjoy that revolver. It's a great shooter. Very different from my 1955, 1950 and 1917's.
