5906 15rd PC Mags
What's the rarity and approximate value of the 5906 PC mags? Can't find any real info on them.

5906 mags probably least valuable of 3rd gen mags.
New in Pkg SW 5906/15rd mags recently at Midway for $36 ea. Believe they are currently on back order. No LE markings but new stock - no need to address tired mag springs or worn followers.
High Quality MecGar 15 & 17 rd 5906 mags also available.
Wish I could say there was a current known high quality source of mags for any other 3rd gen pistols.

^^Good recap however these are PC marked with the CP Bullets floorplate to assist with the guns that have magazine funnels.
These are scarce and would certainly be desirable for anyone with a PPC-9 or WISCHO Target Champion or the scarce DPA-5906.
Used but high condition? $60 to $100 each would be my guess.

I agree with Sevens on his price estimate. It is worth noting that PC guns came with ones like the above that are PC marked and have the extended base pads but also came with non PC marked tubes and with extended pads. There were also 10 round PC marked mags with the pads. Because of certain laws in certain states the 10 round PC marked ones seem to go for the highest price.

I hadn’t noticed a distinction in price difference between PC marked 15-round 9mm magazines and 10-round PC marked 9mm magazines.
However I can say that logically… the 15 rounders “SHOULD” be more scarce, I would think? Simply because the AWB went in to effect in late Spring 1994 and ran for a decade — and this would have been the absolute heyday of Performance Center production.
However then again hahaha, logic sticks it’s face back in to the equation because the PPC-9 pistol was ONLY supposed to be available to buyers that ordered factory direct with LE credentials, which would allow for the 15-round magazine.
Then again!!!! (does this never end?!) A 15-round magazine manufactured between 1994-2004 would also require the LE Restriction marking on the magazine.
I can’t say if I have seen magazines that are marked as LE Restricted and also PC marked. It could be that I own some and I’m not aware.
Consider this discussion a fine example of crazy collector esoterica.

If I remember correctly, some days thats hard. The PPC model guns, even though you had to prove LE credentials, came with 10 round P/C mags. I dont think it had anything to do with being in CA. I think it was because they were not considered a duty type pistol. The DPA 5906 type guns always came with 15 rounders. The Shorty 9s came with 12 rounders. Will check what I have left and see if they are "Restriction" marked.

I would agree the PC marked magazines should bring a premium over the standard 5906 magazines. I have 4" and 5" DPA 5906s. I can't remember if any of the magazines are PC marked. I do recall that, even though the Assault Weapons Ban had expired, the 5" gun, ordered directly from S&W, came with 10-RD. magazines. I called S&W to request they exchange the 10-rounders for 15s. I got the same unpleasant woman I'd ordered the gun from. She refused to exchange the magazines. I was acquainted with a S&W rep, who arranged for me to be sent 15-round magazines...

I too have a 4 & 5in DPA 5906's , not too many of us that can say that , like 19 . All 4 of my mags are 15rd , although 2 have the LE warning . Seeing as you never see these I would think they would demand quite a premium .
See what you started Sevens when you sold me that 639 ?

I have owned 4 PPC9’s. All bought used. PPC guns tend to come with several magazines. From recollection, the vast majority have been 15 round mags but all with bumpers on them. A small minority of these mags have had the PC markings and I think all have the round logo. A possibility is that S&W sold bumpers and individuals just put them on non-PC mags? I haven’t heard of the bumpers being offered for sale separately. (There was a member on here selling Zombie green ones recently and they appear to be identical in form to the PC black ones).
The reason I said the 10 round PC marked mags sell for more than 15 round ones is from personal experience. 10 rounders get snapped up on the Bay. 15 rounders tend to languish on other sites. I think because do feel people know what they are.

5906 IDPA #201 came with 3 10-rd magazines and 2 PC marked 10-rd magazines. None of the magazines had bumpers.

Here are some pics of a few of mine. On left is the Script Performance Center, in the middle is the logo and on right is a script one with the green bumper that I bought from a fellow forum member. Two notes: it appears the script ones were all marked LE only on the front of the tube and the logo ones were not, also some bumpers were marked on bottom CP BULLETS and others have CLASSIC PISTOL. Anyone have ones with script that were not LE marked? (Of course 10 round ones were not so marked). Edit: I found a logo one that is LE marked.

FWIW, my 4” DPA came with ten rounders, and my 5” PPC came with 15 rounders. All had the extended PC bumper pads. ….
