Default ? CS45 Versions ?

While looking for parts for CS45 I noticed four versions keep being listed but cannot find the difference between them.

CS45
CS45D
CS45C
CS45S

I’m under the impression that what we think of as the CS45 is actually the CS45S. No?

I think the CS45 TDA model came in two varieties, both alloy frame, but finished in black or satin, and had either a carbon steel or stainless slide, all with the same model number. So, possibly 4 options for looks, all black, all satin, or 2 pinto options. Just guessing, but i seem to recall pictures on here of any of those combos.

The CS45D was a DAO critter, possibly with the same finish options.

There were potentially 2 firing action variants of CS45 - the CS45 with no suffix was TDA and the CS45D would be DAO double action only. I have never seen a CS45D, but CS40D are known to exist, so logically a CS45D could exist.

There were 2 known color variations of the TDA pistol - I dont believe these are identified by letter suffix on the pistol itself, but the CS45S and CS45C appear in parts list to distinguish the color variation S = silver (Stainless?), C = blue (Carbon Steel). A 3rd color variation - a 2-tone color variation may exist (again it exists in the CS40 but I have never seen it in a CS45)

And just to add to the confusion, variants exist with both Left Side Only Safety (mostly early CS45) and Dual Safety (mostly late CS45) both with same product code 103014 at least in the silver version.

Here's my "early?" (left side safety only)TDA in "blue." I had it tuned and fiber optic front sight. One of my prime carry guns.

?????????????????????

The SCSW 4th edition, on page 391, only shows these two:

3.25" B TDA 6SH FS MNSF AA
3.25" SSTDA 6SH FS AMSF AA

But the chart on page 338 shows the variants of C, S, and D.

Having to look in two places in the catalog surprised me.

CS9 - "Black"

CS45 - "Stainless"

I'm not sure which I like better, actually.
