I've got a 52-2 that came w/one mag,black plastic follower,which functions fine.
Bought a new S&W 52 mag, black plastic follower, that hasn't worked well from day one. About 10-15% of the time when the gun is fired it cycles, ejects the spent shell, but fails to strip the next round from the problem mag, ending up w/an empty chamber.
Because the mag that came w/the gun works fine I'm assuming the problem lies w/the new mag.
I'm shooting Speer 148gr lead hbwc's pushed by 3.2gr Win 231 and Berry plated 148gr hbwc pushed by 3.4gr Win 231.
Any suggestions are welcome. Tks, Kevin

Have you put a caliper on the lips of both mags and compared them? You may need to slightly adjust the new mag to the specs of the original.
