The rear Novak sight on my 4586 needs adjustment. It is offset to the right, and that's where the pistol shoots. So I want to drift it to the left. I have removed the screw but the sight still won't move. What is a good procedure to move it without marring the gun or sight? Will heating it help?
Thanks.

Have you drizzled a penetrating oil of some type into the hole left by the set screw? Some are loctite'd in, others are loctite'd and installed with an extremely close interference fit. For this next, pull the slide and place it in a properly padded vise, avoiding deforming the slides rails. Try a nylon drift. If no go, a copper or brass one. If no go, you'll have to borrow or rent a sight pushing tool.
