As recommended by this forum, I returned my 908 to S&W to see why it was failing to eject every round. The process was very easy and did not cost me anything. I just got it back today via UPS so I haven't had a chance to shoot it to see if it really works. The pistol was just barely under warranty (1 week shy of being 1 year old). The enclosure from S&W noted the following defects as being the cause of its failure to feed: extractor out of adjustment and rough ramp of bbl. It is said to have been repaired and inspected/passed & tested to S&W standards. This has been a very efficient encounter with S&W service and I am pleased. I am even more pleased with the 627 S&W I purchased to become my carry weapon in place of the 908. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful revolver--and I am confident that it won't jam and leave me hanging like an auto. I have shot over 700 rounds through it already and it is FANTASTIC FUN TO SHOOT!! Lite, lite trigger pull--just a super sweet shooter. Everybody ought to get one.

Your warranty should be lifetime.

I am unsure about that on this particular gun. In my owners manual it says specifically a 1 year warranty. I have been reading up on this 908 and I guess it is their "value" line; i.e. economy model. I did not research this gun before I bought it--just did it on impulse because it was cheap. And that it is. But it is a whole lot better now that they tweaked it at the factory--I may be imagining it but it seems like the first shot (that is strictly DA--no hammer to cock) is easier.
