I feel a little foolish asking this, but...'ve started shooting some informal IDLA at our local club. When finished the R.O. checks clear and asks for slide forward and hammer down. How do I drop the hammer w/o a magazine being in the pistol?

TIA
Gregg

I've got the same situation at our local informal matches. I tell the RO it's got a mag safety, show him the MT mag and tell him in order to drop the hammer I need to re-insert the mag. Hasn't been a problem. Lots of other pistols have mag safeties.

Thanks Kevin, I haven't had a problem with a R.O. yet either. I just thought there must be a way but perhaps not.

We usually have them show a empty mag, have the shooter insert, and drop the hammer then remove. But I have removed the mag safeties on my own guns. It requires removing the rear sight to take out.
