I'll try again here. The thumb safety on my MP45 is too easy to accidentally knock off of "safe". Can I fix this?

It seems like a poorly designed thumb safety to me. I like the M&P, even though I haven't bought one yet, but when I handled a M&P 45 with the thumb safety, it seemed like it didn't have much force, or travel for that matter, keeping it on safe.
