Has anyone sent their 3rd gen auto to S&W performance center for the action package and if so is it worthwhile. Also what kind of turn around for the work. Thanks.

Years ago (90's), I had a duty action job on a 4506-1. I told them I was mainly interested is a smooth pull as opposed to a lighter pull.
it was the smoothnest DA pull I had ever felt. it even felt better than my CQB that I got later and had to sell the -1 only to cover the payment for the CQB.
I sold it to a family friend and he said he would never sell it.
if your gun is 100% reliable, and you are not satisfied with the trigger pull, you only need trigger smoothing IMO.
sights to your liking and your basically done.

I have had two 4566's done. Both had the package but on one I also had a Briley Match Barrel and Titanium spherical bushing installed. I still have it and it's one of the most sweetest shooting, accurate 45's I own. The triggers on both broke like glass when I got them back. This was close to 20 years ago so I have no idea what the current work is like but if it is anything remotely close it will be worth every penny.

I'll concure with the other posters, I had a 4003 sent up to the PC shop that came back very smooth. This like the other posters was back in the early '90s. Seems like the turn around was around a week or week and a half.
Cheers,
Sam
